We understand basics around keyword research, onto tools that will help find more keywords data we need.


Most used is the Google Keyword Tool. This tool provides measure on search volume, improvements on keyword suggestion made it favorable keyword tool in the SEO community, and it’s a free google seo tool.


From AdWords, access this tool from the Tools and Analysis. By opening the Advanced Options and Filters area, you can choose data for the world or countries to select, also choose the language of your keywords. Example: United States and English.


Even the devices that people are searching on. Keywords typed into mobile phones are different than desktops, see the differences as you research. Filter results for levels of competition or search volumes. Select a preferred Match Type. The three types: Broad, Exact, and Phrase. Check in the exact match box; ensure we’re getting data for keywords exactly as they appear.
Now type keywords into the Word box per line. If you choose Website URL, the tool will crawl and find relevant keywords. Type in “iPhone cases” and click Search. We discover people also searching “best iPhone cases”, cool iPhone cases. While Global Monthly Searches includes the entire world, the Local Monthly Searches only show data for countries selected. Also check competition. You can select keywords to include, and you can download a list of data where you can work offline in Excel. This tool was developed for AdWords, there are more options and not necessarily for SEO, spend time with this tool for keyword ideas and data.


Another tool is Google Insights for Search, Let’s you type keywords and see information, how that keyword is typed in Google search overtime. Filter the data by type, geography, time period, and Category. Example brown IPhone cases: see graph of this term been searched over the years with news that can help figure out what caused spikes or troughs.


There’s a good trend over the years across the world for brown IPhone cases, get specific, select United States the last 12 months, compare it to singular version keyword, iPhone case. See when demand picked up, and see more people are typing in the singular than the plural.
